Biological and Medical sciences
Biology, the study of life and living organisms, is a broad subject covering a wide range of areas from ecology to genetics by exploring different dimensions of the natural world in detail. As with any subject, first-hand experience makes a subject come alive and immediately adds interest and relevance to the area of study. While textbook work is inevitable, field trips and practical laboratory work lead to sustainable learning and are an essential part of study. Exploring the natural environment directly stimulates interest and excitement that cannot be replicated in the classroom.
This targeted programme will take you on an extended educational biology field trip. You will visit zoos, museums and wildlife centres situated in London, Cambridge and Oxford. This two-week course attaches particular importance to practical laboratory experience as an integral part of biological science education. A wide range of health topics including cancer, stem cell and animal research will also be introduced by medical researchers who will arouse your curiosity about your subject and make your learning experience much more relevant and meaningful.
